The Champ Rich Froning makes everything he does at the regional and Games level look easy.
So does 2014 champ Camille Leblac-Bazinet
They don't make those things look easy because they woke up that morning and decided to put the RX weight on the bar and just see what happens (maybe they did, but that doesn't help my point.)
Those folks are champions because they put the technique work in every day. They take the time to do it right over and over and over so that on game day, at best the challenge is going a bit longer or a bit heavier than in practice.
Take the time to put the work in. Don't look at RX on the board and throw it on the bar if you don't know that it's well within your wheelhouse. Pro-Tip: if you catch a clean with your legs akimbo, your elbows down and/or use your boobs to catch and hold the bar (sorry KC) you should probably deload for the workout and work technique because what you're doing is what we in the business call a shitshow. Even when the champs are at their max, they don't look like that and neither should you (Rich Froning hit 370 in that video and made it look pretty). Be patient with technique work and destrominate the bodyweight stuff that is low skill but high output.
